The Press Release by the Guyana Police Force is damning to all Guyanese for two reasons. First it is shameful to Openly admit via an official declaration that there is no control over one's borders and as such illegal travel is not only possible but may be the norm. Secondly the reason why it was issued is to defend the position of why it was called in firstly "to verify whether or not persons deemed to be out of the jurisdiction and having voted were actually out of the jurisdiction." Now if your borders are porous and you are Openly admitting to illegal arrivals and departures, then it is possible that any one of those named persons on the list of 172 could have reentered Guyana and voted on Eday assuming they were out in the first place. This simple sentence now invalidates any information that the list purports to represent because of this fact. The list is as good as our borders, POROUS. Now try digesting that.. Our system is failing us once again.
