Confirmed: Shraddha Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor reunite for 'Batti Gul
Shraddha Kapoor has officially signed on for her next film project that will see her reunite with her 'Haider' co-star Shahid Kapoor in filmmaker Shree Narayan Singh's 'Batti Gul Meter Chalu'. The film that is reportedly a follow-up to ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’, is a love story at its core, that will focus on the social issues of electricity shortage and also investigates inaccuracies of electricity bills generated.
According to reports, leading lady Shraddha will play a North Indian character whose life serves as the catalyst for the story. Shraddha was reportedly keen to come onboard the project because Vishal Bhardwaj’s ‘Haider’ proved to be a defining moment in her career thus far.
Originally slated to go on floors in January, the cameras will now start rolling in the first week of February and will be shot in a start-to-finish schedule across Haridwar, Rishikesh, Tehri, Mussoorie and Nainital.
Reports claim that the film will also feature another leading lady as a lawyer alongside Shahid.
