No doubt there is some history between Django and Dave and it shows in how both of them regard each other. Dave is passionate but he is also very honest. That said, for a 2 plus months old endeavor the Backdam has been very successful. There is far more topics opened and discussed there than here. Indeed, there are much more active members activity there also. There are 7 forums are most of them are visited often.
But most of all the Backdam is missing something that has infected GCDF especially of late. It does not have the constant bickering as here. Sadly there is a group here that spends all their online time attacking other posters personally rather than addressing the topics being put forward. I see them as tag team that brings no value to the forum. What they mostly do is akin to cyber bullying. Today is still young and you will find several examples of that cyber bullying already. They are destroying the little civility that posters like D_G is trying to instill. When the vermin here becomes too much to stomach, the Backdam provides a very calm and serene place to escape to and recover.
Don't blame Ray. He is just providing an alternative platform and I am confident that he will know when to say when.
There is no history between Django and Dave, they discovered on GCDF, after Django became the Admin, that they knew the same persons in Guyana. There were two chronic bullies on this forum, fortunately both are no longer here.
Similar to the short time for the Guyana government, Backdam cannot evaluate itself as a successful forum. Allowing posters to have their own way without rules, is not an easy thing to later correct. As was proven on this forum with a new Admin enforcing the rules. So expect some rough sailing for Backdam in the future. People don't like changes, even from their bad ways.
Backdam might be different in some ways from GCDF, but allowing personal information is illegal and dangerous. As was seen on this forum, where posters previously became physical, with police involvement.
Similar to other posters, moderators are politically biased. They seem to have favourite members where they sometimes ignore reports, but act on insignificant reports from their 'friends' regarding phrases, bordering on intimidation to the poster.
Unfortunately, when Backdam has enough of no-rule posting and wanting members to follow the rules, it might be too late, where the Admin becomes the bad guy and most disliked.
Most Guyanese have an unpleasant attitude of not following rules. Unfortunately, a Guyanese discussion forum with so many different opinions cannot operate properly without rules, or it becomes chaos.
A child or person needs to be trained from an early age to become a responsible adult. So they don't end up on death row.
