This is correct.  Granger is under a lot of pressure to appease that very powerful Burnhamite group.  Many of them are more educated and wealthier than he is.  And unlike the PPP faction these guys stick together.  They are extremely loyal people, something that the PPP lacks a la Ramjattan and Nagamootoo.  This was an awakening for the AFC.  They were unaware of this Burnhamite group that are well organized in New York, Toronto and other places.  I spoke to a few of them (yes I have PNC friends!!!) and none of them are going to be attending the Nagamootoo soiree this upcoming weekend.  I think he has outlasted his usefulness to them.

The PNC is less "united" than is the PPP.

The difference is that dissension is more possible within the PNC than the PPP, and so you don't see the high level departures, at least not since Trotman left.

Surely you will recall the fiasco at the PNC Congress at Sophia last year when there was fighting, and reportedly even some pushing and shoving.

The docility of the PPP membership means that one has to leave if one has serious issues with its leadership.  If the PPP was like the PNC Nagamootoo would still be there, fighting with Jagdeo, just as the Linden group, and others still fight with Granger.

But the PPP isn't so he left.  With the death of Burnham there isn't any all encompassing PNC leader with the force of personality to have people automatically follow without question.
