This picture breaks my heart.  It is a painful reminder of the separation of families and friends.  For many it was here they said goodbye , never to meet again.

Who caused the separation?  The Government of the day banned foodstuff, medicines, toys, clothing, and spare parts.  The People had to join long lines for food. They had to join the PNC in order to get a job.  Of course,  it breaks everybody's heart not only yours. National Service was the last straw. Crimes were centrally directed by the PNC and Indians were terrorized by the "black clothes police".  The police raided the houses of all Indian visitors to Guyana.

Did you live through that time?
