Reply to "The Caribbean Immigrant Victims Of COVID-19"

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Paramdeo (Vishnu) Baichu and his eldest son Danraj (Vijay).

On the morning of Sunday April 5th, Vishnu tragically left this world. Upon his fathers passing, his eldest son Vijay preemptively checked himself into Jamaica Hospital as he was exhibiting the same symptoms his father had the day before. Within 24 hours, the family was hit with yet another tragedy. At only 24 years old, Vijay's life was cut short.

Vishnu and Vijay left us far too soon. They were an integral part of an upstanding family, and were always there to lend support or a helping hand to anyone around them. Vishnu was born and raised in Adventure (Essequibo Coast, Guyana) and settled in Queens, New York where he fell in love with and married his wonderful wife Dhanwantie (Sabo) Baichu. Vishnu was a dedicated father, brother, husband and friend. He adored all of his children, and would do anything for the people he loved. Vishnu would often drive for hours on end, as if it was no big deal, to be with his family or support them in times of need.

Being the oldest, Vijay was a role model to his younger siblings and a pillar of support for his family. He studies computer science at LaGaurdia College and planned to transfer to Queens College this fall to pursue his Bachelors Degree. Vijay was a soft soul. Everyone who was lucky enough to really get to know him, knew that he was full of kindness and love. He chose to spend his time wisely, as he spent it with the people he loved most. His family and friends, siblings, and beloved nani.

Vishnu and Vijay are loved deeply by each person they came across. Their absence has left a hole in the hearts of everyone who's lives they have touched. They will be deeply missed, and always remembered.

Vishnu and Vijay leave behind their wife/mother Dhanwantie (Sabo) Baichu from Leguan, Guyana. As well as their two kind and caring sons/brothers Takur (Sanjay) Baichu (23 years old) and Tarik (Akshay) Baichu (17 years old). Along with an intelligent and insightful daughter/sister Yahvi (Priyanka) Baichu (15 years old).

Due to the current circumstances, the family is unable to hold a public wake or funeral service.
