He has been elected king. He is using the powers vested according to the constitution! And he is doing so wisely. Sessions should have been fired a long time ago. Trump should now go ahead and fire Mueller.
That the US does not elect kings was set down in precedence by the first president, George Washington. While not a very bright man he was a very honorable man and sought to preserve an elected democracy over strong men or elected regent.
If he moves to end the Muller probe there will be an immediate move to impeach him hence the slight of hand trick to control the investigation. You also miss the fact that you are dealing with legal scholars who are devoted to the American constitution. Mueller definitely will be anticipating that move.
