Reply to "Right wingers orchestrating a coup in Brazil; are the Americans involved?"

.  Given the History of US intervention in Latin America, I would not rule out an orchestration of a coup in Brazil in an effort to destabilize the country.  It almost happened once before in the country's history.

Dilma Rouseff is a much weaker president than Lula and this would be a better opportunity to do it.

I suggest that you take a trip to Sao Paulo, and ask yourself whether a nation so powerful, dynamic and advanced (at least at the level of its elites and its upper middle class),  is some little banana republic where some minute desk officer in the State Dept can orchestrate a coup.

Note that Brazil has the 3rd largest aerospace industry in the world!

It has the 7th largest economy in the globe with a GDP only 20% smaller than that of the UK.

Like the UK and France, Brazil can be described as a sub tier global power, behind only the giants of the USA, China, Japan, and Germany!

If there is a coup in Brazil, and I doubt that the right wing military nuts will be mad enough to attempt this, it will be due to forces WITHIN Brazil!
