Great to see that the youths of today are keeping the flag flying.

If you went to QC you would know that ACTIVE involvement in non academic activities is what molded the QC man.  To truly succeed in life one needs to be a broad based character as merely possessing certificates is no longer seen as education.  To get into the best US schools one must display a broad based range of interests and activities for this very reason.

So what did this boy do other than bash the books?  If not he will find out that in real life one needs a diverse set of skills beyond the ability to pass exams.  THAT is why extra curricular activities are part of a well rounded education.  Sports, Stage Society, Boy Scouts, Cadets, Tour club, and other activities. All of these were important.

With 25 subjects to study, even though many are quite easy, and other representing one subject divided into several, if compared to the GCE, I doubt this kid had time for anything else. I hope that he doesn't turn out to be another PhD with scant to offer the real world.

I agree. That is why Prashad kick the butts of several A level stars in college. When at a professional level it is a different ball game.
