Reply to "Putting Respect In Effect: Blacks Should Respect Themselves And Community Members"

Good point.  Guyanese Indians have been asking themselves why Asian Indians and even Bengalis are making great progress even though they speak with an accent and don't dress that well.  Some say we inherited some lazy man culture from Guyanese society.

Guyanese Indians were damaged by the sugar plantation as were blacks.  Chinese and others left the estates quickly so less damage was done.

This even though Indians were treated as humans and not as estate property as were blacks.  Their family structure and value systems weren't severely damaged as was done to the slaves.  And while the estate system definitely led to self hatred at least Indians were allowed to maintain their own institutions to reduce this impact.

But it is clearly obvious that Indians were damaged.   As to why this is more true for Guyana than for T&T, blame the PPP for that.  They treated their supporters like how the British estate owners treated their grandparents.

So tell your fellow Indo KKK members that they need to stop ranting about blacks because Indo Guyanese have severe problems, as is indicated by substance abuse, suicides, spousal abuse and reports of incest, and increasing involvement in crime and corruption.  This shows a community with high levels of depression and social disorder.
