So Moses praising Granger for his quick appointment of Patterson. Somehow, Moses failed to realize that the only person who has stalled the prompt appointment of a Chairman was Granger. Looks like Moses has lost his marbles.

Wasn't Jagdeo also stalling the process by presenting a list like this to Granger?

1. Ramesh Dookhoo
2. Lawrence Latchmansingh
3. Maj. Gen. Rtd Norman McLean
4. Christopher Ram
5. Prof. James Rose
6. Rhyaan Shaw

Who did he really expect that Granger would pick from this list?

No. Jagdeo presented the list in a timely manner and then waited until Granger rejected it. When I thought Jagdeo would be belligerent, he very calmly went back and revised the list. Then he waited again until Granger rejected it gain and revised it a third time. Slow man Granger would have stalled again had the international folks not begin to get impatient. Each of those three instances, Jagdeo was very prompt in presenting the list to Granger. My guess is that without the growing impatience of the international folks, Granger would still be stalling. My guess is that he would be stalling the next general elections way beyond 2020.

Maybe Jagdeo presented the list in a timely manner but he was just wasting time by submitting names he knew would be unacceptable to Granger. It was all a ploy by Jagdeo that is more transparent than Saran Wrap. Who in their right mind would think that Granger would pick a name from the list above that Jagdeo submitted?

Lets think about this for a minute....

If it was just an exercise in futility, then why did the President have Jagdeo submit the list 3 times, after 18 names?? Why did Granger not end this charade during the first round, if as you seem to suggest, the names were unacceptable?

And, if this was a ploy so geniously engineered by Jagdeo, why did the President not come clean and make this clear at the first round so that he could have the majority of the Guyanese people see through Jagdeo's ploy and support him when he made a decision to go unilateral?

And, in the last highlighted line, (Who in their right mind would think that Granger would pick a name from the list above that Jagdeo submitted?) Jagdeo was simply following precedent and the way it was done in the past. Thats how its specified in the Constitution.

I believe Granger already knew who he wanted as the GECOM chair. It would be interesting to know (if we could read his mind) who else he felt could have been a fit and proper person for the job.

Like I said, the legal issue will be resolved by the courts. But this is the worst mistake Granger made if he was genuinely concerned about winning over some Indians and opposition members to his side.
