There was a previous party, the GAP (Guyana Action Party) , led by Thomas Hardy, I believe. His was an Amerindian Party, but his unsuccessful attempts shows how difficult it is to unite the Amerindians, though I believe GAP concentrated on the coastal Amerindians.
