Police reportedly instructed to raid PPP MPs homes

The Police were allegedly instructed to raid the homes of Members of Parliament (MPs) of the People’s Progressive Party Civic (PPP/C) to search for “incriminating materials”.

Citizens Report understands that senior functionaries of the Government have reportedly met with selected members of the Guyana Police Force (GPF) where the order was made.

This will not be a strange occurrence as many persons’ homes have already been unnecessarily raided and ransacked by lawmen under the instructions of the Government.

According to the former Attorney General, Mr. Mohabir Anil Nandlall in a social media post, the exercise seems to be an attempt to divert attention from the massive scandal in which the Government is embroiled, regarding the US$18M signing bonus and all the other issues which arose in Parliament, recently, that have caused a serious dent on the image of the Government.

Nandlall contended that this is simply political witch hunting and harassment

“With each passing day, we are reverting to those dreaded days of Burnhamism. To deny this reality is nothing short of a confession to blindness,” he stated.

Citizens report.
