Everybody worked for it Guyana has been largely untouched by humans until the middle of the last century with 90 percent of people living on the coast. Africans certainly did not work on 90 percent of the land. And Indians did their share of dirt digging and seawall building and polder maintenance on the 10 percent that was inhabited.
