If Guyana had so much work why then did so many flee to Suriname, Trinidad, Grenada, Barbados, St Lucia, Antigua, Montserrat, St Kitts Nevis, St Maarten, Anguilla, and Tortola.
There have been instance of rampant abuse of Guyanese in T&T and at least on TWO occasions Guyanese were KILLED by their Trini employers when they demanded to be paid for work that they had done.
People only migrate to other poor countries when they have no choice. This isn't the bright lights of NYC or Toronto we are talking about.
As to child labor. Statistics cited were for the coast. In fact most of the child labor is in casual vending and in the agricultural sectors and these kids were not regularly attending school.

These stats are for 2012, based on data collected in 2011. In fact 15% of the kids failed to complete PRIMARY school.
