Reply to "No legal pathway for GECOM to annul elections – Nandlall says"

My attention was drawn to News Source publishing a story bearing the caption ‘PPP THREATENS COURT ACTION IF GECOM PROBES CLAIMS OF “DEAD VOTING”’.

The news item is culled from remarks I made to the Press today, outside the Arthur Chung Convention Center, at the conclusion of the day’s National Recount exercise.

At no time, during my interaction with the Press, did I contend that the PPP would be going to court if GECOM probes “dead voting”.

I stated a legal truism:
“any time the Commission acts outside its legal powers, the Court would be there to correct it.”

I hope the error is corrected.

PPP threatens Court action if GECOM probes claims of “dead voting”

PPP Candidate and Attorney Anil Nandlall told reporters outside the Arthur Chung Convention Centre that any move by GECOM to investigate the claims being made during the recount would be illegal and he believes the Court will stop it.
