If you look at the political lives of Cheddi and Janet Jagan objectively a clear pattern emerges. They were constantly looking for East Indians who showed the slightest ability to rival them politically and they were merciless in dealing with these East Indians. They had very different approaches to Indo Guyanese politicians and Afro Guyanese politicians. It is very unfortunate that the majority of the East Indians of Guyana chose to put their political fate in the hands of these two vindictive politicians. The East Indians of Guyana will pay a heavy price for many generations to come for the damage that was done.
