In fact there are even questions about why the descendants of Indian indentures are doing so much worse than those of indentures from Madeira and China. After all they didn't go through the extreme soul destroying destructiveness that the transatlantic slave trade represented. At least they were allowed to maintain their family structures, religions and value systems. This being denied to the African enslaved peoples.
No one will describe the Chinese Caribbean people as being trapped by binge drinking, wife abuse, suicides or levels of poverty. Even though they were also non white Asian indentures, so weren't initially treated any better than were Indians.
So I suggest that Nehru write a paper discussing why Indo Guyanese are failures when compared to Chinese Guyanese. That is a better use of his time than screaming "me bettah dan blackman!".
