Barbados launches ‘emergency plan’ to tackle massive debt
Barbados has announced an “emergency plan” to tackle its mounting economic crisis, including restructuring its public debt, after the Caribbean country’s new government discovered that its liabilities were much worse than thought, reaching 175 per cent of gross domestic product.
In fact its YOUR GAWU who cites Barbados as an excuse to keep the sugar industry open instead of T&T which shut it down, or Jamaica which keeps it alive only to supply the domestic markets.
Anyway thousands of PPP supporters remain in Barbados, having fled there around 2000. Apparently the Jagdeo economy couldn't feed them so they had to cut cane, and wash toilets to keep their families fed.
