Sugar workers include everyone from in the economic zone of the industry. There may be 7 to 9 thousand cane cutters but technically, you would extend the impact to the weeders, rat catchers.management, small shopkeepers and even the sugarcane vendors etc all whom are directly impacted by the loss of the estates. I should have said unemployed workers related to the sugar industry. Even rumshops are going out of business!
