"The leadership at both companies appear to be connected to political elites in Guyana; both allegedly donated funds to both the ruling and former government party, and Mohamed reportedly donated an armored car to the new president, Irfaan Ali.

Tamesh Jagmohan, El Dorado Trading’s director, suggested that the allegations against the company “emanate from persons with ulterior motives. It is not uncommon in Guyana for certain private/public groupings to combine efforts to attack others for competitive, financial or political purposes.”

Regardless of the gold smuggling allegations against El Dorado Trading, Jagmohan himself has been investigated by the FBI for gold smuggling to the U.S. and he and his company are suspected of having laundered money for the terrorist organization Hezbollah. Jagmohan was stopped at the Miami airport in 2012 with 27 bars of gold he failed to declare. According to someone with knowledge of the investigation, he was fined $40,000 USD and had his visa revoked."

The interests of the political and commercial crooks are intertwined. Jagmohan and Mohamed are connected to Irfaan Ali.  According to the excerpted piece above Mohamed even donated an armored car to Ali.  When would IndoGuyanese wake up to the corruption they encourage with their political support for the PPP?

Was the coalition government corruption free? That, I doubt! I only supported them because of my loathing for any government with Jagdeo in it! Harmon I liked but was sorely disappointed when the Henry boys and later, the Indo teen, whose name, unfortunately, escapes me now, were murdered! To me, for racial strife! Fortunately, the people were largely calm!
