Reply to "‘Jagdeo-era killings ‘"

Guys, back to the topic, please. For me, the fundamental issue is -What is the population or communities to do in a situation of the absence, motivation, reluctance, ability of the internal security force including the GDF, and with the connivance of politicians to protect the population of a nation?

I believe in the rule of law. But, it is easy to pontificate when we reside in countries where the rule of law is applied and protected. I visited Guyana during this time because one of my cousins and friend was shot by the “freedom fighters”. He survived but another one was killed. The police was doing little or nothing to protect people, or else you had to pay them, the GDF was playing games and consorting with the criminals in Buxton, Politicians were calling criminals “zFreedom Fighters”, there were mass murders  in Lusignan and Bartica, Buxton and Agricola were havens for armed criminal gangs. people were scared for their lives!

I remember going to a resort where, in a group of approx a dozen. Five individuals had arms to protect the group.

What is a community to do? Wait until the perpetuators of this organized violence call off the criminals or try to do something to protect themselves and families? Think about being immersed in this situation everyday!
