No they didn't. They returned escaping slaves and sold the planters produce. This is why Guyana didn't have large Maroon populations as did Suriname.

So good were the relations between the Amerindians and the Dutch that Amerindians even fled to Guyana escaping the Spanish and the Portuguese in neighboring regions.
