Reply to "HAPPY CHRISTMAS SKELDON ESTATE."

You only seem to be concerned now that the Coalition Govt. is desperately trying to save what can be salvaged from the mess the PPP left behind at Guysuco.

The government's responsibility is to secure employment for it's people, when the private sector cannot. But not to destroy the lives of hard working citizens, whenever you lay off one ,five other lives will be affected due to ripple effects.A good friend of mine just returned from Guyana, he visited Wales, the place is a ghost town, people are stealing the clothes off the clothes' lines, if you have fruit bearing trees ,strangers stop and ask for fruits, poultry stealing is frequent, police don't answer calls for theft. He said many small shops are now closed, nobody gives credit. He took some friends for a drink, the bar was empty with just a couple sharing a flattie, the bar man said at this rate he will have to close soon.As you drive around, many houses need repair, but the owners cannot afford.

Well, take what just happened to Wales and imagine the same at every other Sugar Estate community in Guyana that the Government is CLOSING, the country is slowly being destroyed. Put money in the hands of the people, they will send and invest and the TAX base will grow, other than having to spend on welfare, policing, mental problem, suicide and crime.
