In the 1970's the PNC gave away land on the East bank to 90% PNC supporters. The land had to be held for five years however, by year three many rented it to Indian farmers and a few years after the lock-up period, Indians owned 90% of the land!
As long as there are Indians around in Guyana, Blacks will shun work associated with land.
