Peter was no match for the power hungry, evil ways of Burnham.  By the time he realized that he was being used to put the PNC in power it was too late.  Many Putagee businesses were burned to the ground during the riots.  Victoria and Belfied ECD were Portuguese villages with flourishing businesses of all kinds - bakeries, Madeira wine shops, Reis lemonade factory, jewelry stores.  All of the Portuguese pack up and left their beautiful homes behind and went mainly to Canada.  Some never looked back. Today Belfield and Victoria are occupied by a full out PNC stronghold.

It’s mind boggling to me why the Portuguese still continue to support the PNC after their demise.
