In 1989 I attended a one-week seminar at the Jose Marti Institute of Journalism in Cuba. The main guest speaker at one session was a former Cuban representative at UNESCO. When he heard I am Guyanese he approached me and asked if I knew Nascimento. I said YES. He was full of praise for Nascimento's work in UNESCO, particularly his contribution to the development of the then New International Information Order that was promoted by the Non-Aligned Movement. He said Nascimento was very knowledgeable about the inequality of news flows between the developed nations and the under-developed ones.

I know Sir Gilly is pissed at me at the moment. But if Sir Gilly had read Burnham's book "A Destiny to mold". Then it would be good if he shares what he thinks of Nascimento's work in putting the book together.
