How is Comey a crook? The man is doing his job. Hillary is the one who is the crook. If he had kept quiet and not say a word then he would have to take the heat for not exposing her crookedness. And people would be crying a different set of tears.
He is using two different standards to address the issues facing the two nominees for president. On the one hand, he claimed that he could not disclose anything about the investigation into Russian links to the Trump campaign because it was within the sixty days before the elections policy. He then broke the same policy guidelines against the advice of his boss and disclosed the new investigation into Abidin's emails when he did not even know what he possessed. Being a lifelong Republican, he's obviously trying to tip the elections in favor of Donald Trump. That is the definition of a crook in anybody's books and he's even been lambasted by the attorney generals in the last two Republican Administrations (among many others) for his scampishness.
