Douglas Mendes SC has raised the preliminary issue that because his clients—President Irfaan Ali and Bharrat Jagdeo were not served on time in accordance with the prescribed Rules, the petitions may themselves amount to a nullity.

Prescribed procedures must conform with the Rules of the Courts.
