RAMJATTAN's LIES EXPOSED!
LIES: He said that the World Bank did an Assessment and Surveyed over 163 Business men and they found that Business men had to pay a percentage of their profits in order to receive a government Contract.
FACTS: This report he mentions is not a report but an opinion survey
which was conduced by the World Bank. No one knows who and
which business men they interviewed. If you conduct interviews with
opposition elements that call themselves businessmen then only one
answer can be derived at.
FACTS: This Opinion Survey was conducted between November 2004 -
and March 2005. Not only is this report outdated but it does not reflect
the reality that currently exists.
RAMJATTAN's LIES: He said that Guyana is ranked either last or second to last in the world with regards to corruption and he mentions the Transparency International and World Economic Forum.
FACTS: 74.4 % of businesses surveyed said resoundidly that corruption is not a major issue or impediment to doing business in Guyana. (Source-World Economic Forum)
