Coming back to the discussion on public disclosure of public officials’ assets, I think the Coalition should have called Jagdeo’s bluff and pushed for the bill. Given how easy it is for Guyanese officials to become corrupted, such a rule would go a far way in keeping sticky hands off the treasury as well as give the general public more confidence in their government. Unfortunately, the Coalition seems more interested in keeping such a bill out of existence.

Successive GoG's seem reluctant to install any systems that will make government accountable and transparent, much to the detriment and continued poverty of Guyana and its citizens.
