Reply to "Do black Americans commit more crime?"

You solve poverty you will solve crime. It’s as simple as that. Black Americans are not intentionally out here looking to commit crimes by virtue of their race. They mostly turn to a life of violence to survive, literally. They tell us go to school and get an education, but didn’t tell us the discrimination we have to face to find a decent paying job.

I can tell you many stories on how discrimination and poverty can impact a community. All I will say is, America has its benefits but also many many ills that even us foreigners have been subjected to. It’s a game we have to learn and play to not only survive but thrive.

Have we ever considered invisible violence? It goes in line with what you write above. There is a kind of violence which is far more violent than the ones we see playing out on the streets of America right now. If happens in the schools as well as the work force that systemically deprive people of colors from the privileges happily handed out to whites. Take the case of the Brooklyn Nets Head Coach position where Steve Nash was hired with no coaching experience. With KD's return next year that team is expected to play in the finals. Steve Nash with no experience will get the benefit of KD and Kyrie just like Spoelstra did with the big 3 in Miami although Spoelstra previous had a losing record experience. While there are just a few black coaches in the NBA they are almost always given jobs in depressed or underdeveloped teams and are quickly kicked out when their teams don't improve. Mark Jackson developed GSW but was let go and the job given to Steve Kerr to reap the benefits of Jackson's hard work. And that is only one industry. There are many the most prevalent where colored people have to do twice as much to get half as much of what whites get. Bringing us back to that silent violence I mentioned earlier. There are countless colored people who are fully capable of providing more for their families but are forced to look their families in the eyes and say that can't and sadly the reason they can't is because someone sitting at a desk where guns and tanks are not visible violently decides the worth of that colored person not based on their abilities but rather the color of their skin.

That said, I cannot in anyway agree with the violence taking place on the streets either.
