At one time, China was an aid recipient nation. Today, it rivals the U.S. in giving aids and loans to developing countries. China is aiding 5000 projects in 140 countries at present. On the flip side, country like Guyana depends on countries like China, India, or the U.S. for loans and aids to fund projects through bilateral agreements. If China is looking for something in return, think in terms of business. They will receive long term contracts that will outweighs any monetary aids given to Guyana.
