This is the time of year when sugar workers get the fat end of the stick. I should remind you that they suffered the same fate under Jagdeo's presidency. We can glorify the ppp, but we should never forget the wrongs they have done to the back bone workers of Guyana.

Under Jagdeo the Sugar workers had a job .Sell the entire sugar  corporation to private investors but don't give it away. The Chinese can make it work but the workers have to work harder for a fair days pay. What is worst unemployment rise in crime or people having a job to wake up to. The government have to make a choice.

Jagdeo missed the bus. He refused to sell when private investors were interested because he knew that massive lay offs would occur, even as he allowed this in bauxite.

Who will buy sugar now that the EU market is about to go and sugar prices are way below where Guysuco's productions costs are likely to be. And with GAWU who thinks that their workers are entitled to endless "welfare" payments.  Were GuySICKO a private company it would have collapsed long ago!

Have you heard anyone interested in buying any estate for purposes of growing sugar?  NO!  The oligarchs who surround Jagdeo have no interest in that and we just need to see what happened to sugar lands on EBD to see where private investors will take any lands that they buy.
