Jalil, thanks for posting these informative pieces on Basil Butcher's cricketing career.

In Basil's time test cricketers were paid a pittance compared to the earnings of today's cricketers. That didn't stop them from excelling in the game and setting records difficult to match. True sportsmen they were, playing for the love of cricket and for glory.
