Wins for Hopetown United Rangers and Cougars in GFF/Namilco U-17 football

In a game played at the Paradise Ground on the West Coast of Berbice, Hopetown United Rangers F.C beating Mahaicony Thunder Hawks F.C. 3-0 in latest play of the Guyana Football Federation (GFF) Namilco Thunderbolt Flour Power U-17 competition.
The game was played in sunny conditions at the Paradise ground with Hopetown United Rangers FC dominating play in their 3-0 blowout. Equano Small opened the scoring in the 11th minute when he converted a cross from the left side.
It was soon 2-0 as captain Keysean Walters converted from the penalty mark in the 26th minute, after striker Anthony Alexander was fouled in the box.
He score remained unchanged at lemon time.
Upon the resumption the Mahaicony lads came alive and put the Hopetown defence under pressure. They were able to weather the storm through some good defence and excellent goalkeeping from Alex Inniss.
However, Hopetown were able to regroup and slot in goal #3 off the boot of Anthony Alexander in the 69th.
At the Burnham Park in New Amsterdam, Cougars FC hammered Corriverton Links 8-1.
In the game that was also played in sunny conditions, Cougars led by Dwaine Alleyne with five attacked relentlessly as they ate up their rival with ease in a dominant display.
At the half time whistle the score was 5-1, with a hat-trick coming off the boot of Alleyne in the 3rd, 4th and 22nd minute.
Lamar Reid, who opened in the 1st minute and Avion Kendall in the 20th also scored.
In the second half Dwaine Alleyne netted two more in the 46th and 63rd minutes. Substitute Vivian Bowling netted in the 67th minute.
Scoring for Corriverton Links was Neil Jacobs in the 32nd min.
