Why I won’t celebrate India’s independence

Bhai Prashad then you should speak to Hub Cap Daughter, The Maha Sabha, the Pundits council of Guyana and the Swami. Hinduism is rich here in Toronto and the GTA.

Ow man, be respectful to the deceased and say Pandit Reep's daughter, now head of the Dharmic Sabha.

I have no respect for him. He was not anti caste and moreover he conducted a fake marriage. He gave Prakash G a hard time, claiming that he was not a Brahmin and turned Pundits against him.

Hinduism in Guyana lost a huge chunk of people to Christianity. Those people are not coming back. This has not occurred in East Indian Islam in Guyana. The fault lies in the failure of Pandits to educate the people. Their job is not just to show up to do religious ceremonies and get paid. The time for Hinduism in Guyana to be like Orthodox Judaism and wait for converts to come to them is over.  The Guyanese Pandits have to get out into the public and educate the public on why and how they should become Hindus.

Prashad likes the Pandit's daughter.  She takes time out from her busy schedule to teach the young girls Indian dancing plus she knows a few Bollywood dance moves.

When Prak was in Vancouver for a three-day religious service and we were all staying at the same family house.   This issue came up in a discussion, under religious politics in Guyana. Prak only mentioned it because he was asked, normally I don't believe he would say anything.

Correct. We learned about it here from other pundits who would attend Prak's Yajna's to idolize him.

Well, what can I say? At a certain level of my consciousness I've lost respect for all brahmins. They use and abuse the lower castes. And, why did brahmins appropriate to themselves monopoly rights to be pandits? If a chamar educates himself in the Hindu scriptures, philosophy, rituals etc why can't he become a pandit? Pointedly, even if Prakash Gossai were not a brahmin why couldn't Reep recognize his panditing abilities?

Gilbakka abhors casteism. I am for egalitarianism and social/religious justice. Time for a socialist revolution in Hinduism.
