WASHINGTON — While railing against California for its so-called sanctuary immigration policies, President Donald Trump referred to some people who cross the border illegally as "animals" — drawing a sharp rebuke from Democratic leaders for the harsh rhetoric.

Trump's remark at meeting with local leaders was in response to a complaint about gang members.

"We have people coming into the country, or trying to come in -- and we're stopping a lot of them," Trump said during the immigration roundtable after a sheriff commented about gangs. "You wouldn't believe how bad these people are. These aren't people. These are animals."

Normally I don't agree with most of what Trump says but he's right in this case. Some of the illegals trying to sneak in are cartel mules and soldiers. The cartels even try to put them among refugees.

AND HE IS A BIG SKONT!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do you see the way Trump hugged the American flag? He wants everyone coming to America to love the flag like he does. Trump is frustrated with illegals who call him a skont and still living in his country. The man is absolutely right to hunt them out of sanctuary cities and send them back to shithole Mexico. You luck you get you kagaj.

Mexico's Foreign Minister said on Thursday that recent remarks by U.S. President Donald Trump describing some undocumented immigrants as "animals" were unacceptable and that a formal complaint would be filed with the State Department.

"President Trump referred to some immigrants, perhaps he had criminal gangs in mind, I don't know, as animals, not as persons," Luis Videgaray said in an interview with local TV station Televisa.
"In the opinion of the Mexican government this is absolutely unacceptable and we are going to formally communicate this to the U.S. State Department today," he said.

Trump made the remarks on Wednesday during a meeting with California municipal leaders who favor his goal of making the U.S. border impervious to illegal immigration.

"We have people coming into the country, or trying to come in, and we're stopping a lot of them, but we're taking people out of the country. You wouldn’t believe how bad these people are. These aren't people. These are animals," said Trump.

Is Trump still fooling people with his theater? Trump doesn’t like the American flag any more than Osama Bin Laden liked it. Even after all his lies, some 13% of Americans still don’t think he lies.

Does that excuse him being a bigot?

Every country has laws, rules, and regulations to carry out. Trump is doing what the law dictates. Mexicans no Hablan Espanol when is come to American laws.

What do you mean by the above? Trump is walking back what it means to be an american for the world. He is embracing the racist, xenophobic insularity and indifference that sent 6 million jew to the gas chambers because the world let a genocidal maniac worked his will while america  and others watched from the sidelines with benign indifference until it was too late. The damage he will do to this country by the time his government is passed will take a decade to fix

The nation is breaking filial bonds through out the globe and everywhere he is selling america as an avaricious, soulless state embracing an economic system akin to 19th century mercantilism...take, take, take with no adam smith compassionate invisible hand ensuring justice or a soul in the process. I do not watch TV anymore, the less of I see of his face the easier my time will pass to the end of his term so we can erase his plastic understanding of the world from the memory of this great land.

Absolutely NOT. However, agree or disagree with an idea or policy based on it's merit not which party or individual proposed or implemented it. This is something the majority of Guyanese suffer from.

No one disagrees with sound policy one disagrees with this awful fellow lying his way and denegrating a people to get his way. Only yesterday I heard him speaking of Mara Salvatruchas as if they define latin american immigrants. He does not know they are an american grown gang like the bloods or the crips or latin kings but he tags all Hispanic folks as are kin to these netherworld denizens.

I do not know to what you refer by what Guyanese suffer from but I assure you my thinking on this matter is centrist and clear. It is about his arrogant racist attitude to a people he does not know and a policy he does not comprehend. Worse he is a cannot help lying to fill in the gaps of his shallow grasp of issues. That is why it is only drug mules coming across the desert with big legs and a propensity to rape and pillage white women.

Trump is out of line here. But what he actually said is being taken out of context. He was referring to illegal Gang Members as animals.

Shut the fu.ck up you ignorant prick. Like him you miss the reality that MS13 and all of its off shoots are an American grown street gang that prey on immigrant communities. It is like saying all black people for the bloods or the crips. Meanwhile this is the fellow who saw good in Nazis and right wing fascists marching in Charlotteville! It is about scapegoating to create animus in order to fabricate a policy. The last time that was done the Nazis did it

I didn't mean you and I said majority of Guyanese. Everyday we have example here. In the eyes of the PPP, the PNC can do no right and vice versa. The only thing I agreed with was "some" of the illegals, the ones gang and drug related etc, are like animals.
