I thought this matter needed some clarification.

The PPP did indeed attempt to get the former principal members and leading activists of ROAR on board their re-election campaign.

ROAR members gave the Big Seeded Ones a hearing. And of course whatever soft support the PPP had prior to this meeting among ROAR people was destroyed by the PPP just by opening their stupid mouths.

The only thing the PPP proved in this meeting was that they are a bigger threat to Indian people than the PNC.

I of course acknowledge that Ravi Dev is now a PPPite. He is actually on his own as far as former ROAR members are concerned.

I think it is the ROAR guys who took it upon themselves to crank up the apanjat campaign. They took Babu Jaan and multiplied it several times. The problem with this team is they are motivated more by brute prejudices than reason. There is no group in Guyana which has been more detrimental to East Indians than PPP. This so-called ROAR group has taken on the task of apanjaat, instead of educating and lobbying for constitutional change and power sharing like David Hinds has done. They have now become the staunch defenders of the raping of the people's tax dollars. They use apanjaat to defend the kleptocrats, who walk all the way to the bank leaving the rural Indians with Skeldon sugar factory, crimes, drugs, unkempt environments, recurring floods, bandits and pirates. The other problem I have with this group is they want us all to mimic life in UP and Bihar. As for me, I am grateful my ancestors left that piece of hell on earth. They can't accept that we should fuse a new form of East Indian identity in the Caribbean. Let people be Indian Hindus, Muslim, Christians, agnostics and atheists with their unique flavor.

Before Ravi Dev got into ROAR, he and his sidekick Baytoram had formed a JAGUAR Committee for Democracy.

ROAR...JAGUAR....

Is there a Freudian suggestion of animalistic aggression in the choice of those names?

Whatever, the JAGUAR group retreated to its forested oblivion and ROAR in Guyana is now a dim echo of a long-winded call of the wild.

You don't know anything about ROAR if you think this is the total contribution of ROAR to Guyanese politics.

The first Indian group in the modern era that raised the consciousness of a significant segment of traditional PPP Indians was ROAR. It is not a stretch to say that the AFC has reaped the Indian crop that was sown by ROAR.

You Jaganites did not plant the seeds of anti-PPPism in today's Indian. ROAR did. You Jaganites helped to destroy ROAR electorally if I recall because you all could not compete with ROAR's message to the Indians.

Today, you will find many Indians who wish they had voted for ROAR. I never met anyone in Guyana who wish they had voted PPP or PNC after they cast their ballot.

It was actually ROAR that may have pushed the PPP clumsily to the right in many things. There is now an IAC arm of the PPP. The PPP previously avoided the very word "Indian" like the plague. And here's another state secret, it was ROAR that was hammering the PPP that directly led the PPP to clumsily recruit drug lords to help "fight crime."

The most dangerous party since 1992 to the PPP was ROAR. Which is why the PPP threw everything at us including the logie sink.

Which is further why the PPP would approach former ROAR members in 2015 for help to win because the anti-PPP Indians in Berbice are not "Nagamootoo Indians" but ROAR Indians.

You Jaganites are a distinct super minority of disgruntled ex-PPP members that no one likes and no one trusts. Indians do not trust you lot. They trust you all the same as they trust the PPP which is to say not very much. ROAR retain some credibility in the Indian imagination. ROAR's strength was never reflected in election results. Even the PPP knows that.

"Your Excellency",

I recall a time not so long ago when we were staunch ROARites and neither of us thought we were on a crusade to oppress anyone or to ensure the Indian domination of Guyana.

They fact that you and I used to be part of ROAR's core membership and will not save the PPP from destruction this year is some small proof that ROAR was not about racial domination. It was about a just political settlement for Guyana's principal ethnic groups.
