All rapes must be condemned and prosecuted to the fullest. But often we hear young men raping the elderly and old men raping children that is sickening to comprehend. Today, a young man was sentence to life for raping an elderly woman in Guyana. This a silent problem that leaves women with scars for life, and men to waste their lives in jail.
I tried to draw an imaginary picture of a young man taking advantage of a grandmother sexually, and it isn't a scene that one would take pleasure in doing, or worth the risk of spending your life in jail.
The men that intrudes and rape women and children have given up their purpose in life, respect and self-esteem. They have no lifeline to rely on. They are hopelss and desperate.
Guyana is so far under to realize that rape is a disease and the victims and perpetrators need help equally. As I have said in an earlier post, Guyana has layers of problems stack against the helpless and innocent victims.
