Exxon is a messiah to Guyana.  Regardless of the deal imperfections, this will change the fortunes of all Guyanese.

The GOG should keep the Norwegians involved in helping them navigate as the wealth begins to flow.  They have the best track record in this area. Keep development and the economy balanced between oil and non-oil!

We should all be happy for Guyana.  Had this occurred and Guyana developed, many of us would likely never left.

I spoke to my relatives there, they are all hopeful and feel their businesses, kids and grands will benefit greatly and will remain and build Guyana!  They care little whether PPP or PNC rule.  They all do prefer the PPP but without the current ruling cabal.

Their biggest concern is crime!

Do you think the PPP would ever get this in their heads? Without drastic changes they are going nowhere.. those in higher positions aint giving them up without a fight.

Both parties have their issues and I cannot say which is better or worse.  I always gave the PPP an edge because of Afro racism in the PNC against Indians.  From a policy standpoint, both have their pluses and minuses.  If the PNC can show genuine concern for the displaced sugar workers, and mitigate their suffering, it will go a long way in resurrecting their image within the Indian community.  There are also good people within the PNC!

I will keep an open mind and not get overly worried more than my many relatives living in Guyana!  They are on ground zero!
