Riff you have been closing threads by PPP posters including myself even if someone else uses unacceptable terms.

You sir have proven to blind to the Racist terms and blatant lies that Carib posts here at GNI and give him a free pass.

Here he is inciting hatred and is quite racist, posting lies, he is a racist PIG.

Take action now!!!!!!!! Please end your double standards.

"Jagdeo did a terrific job in screaming that "if de PNC win blackman gun rape your daughters".  He didn't say "blackman", but said police and GDF, but you and I know full well that it is the image of the violent and rapacious black that he wanted to convey to Indians."

as far as I know we never ban the use of the word blackman only the Nig word

Fair enough Bossman.

FYI. Riff has been closing many of my threads where another poster uses the term blackman. He should be notified to cease these types of unilateral decisions in closing threads because of decisions that he makes when the term blackman is used.

He needs to act with balance and fairness. What is good for the goose is good for the gander.

These inconsistencies cause many problems and confusion resulting in frustration on the part of posters. Yes, admin has a right to delete threads since the site belongs to them. However, posters need clear guidelines which are going to be followed consistently.

amral is either being disingenuous or does not understand that the word "b......." is as racist or maybe more so  than the "n....." word in Guyana. It seems to me that the Ni...." word was rarely used in the past in Guyana. It was more tge "b....,,," worn hurled around as a racial epithet. What about the use of the " c....." word? Many of us grew up having this word shouted at us in attempting to dehumanize us. Why is this word not banned too? What about sexist comments? Why the inconsistencies? Why the new found political correctness? Certainly, I agree that sexism and racism must not be tolerated. However, we need consistency!

It's all in the context...or the way it's being used

If someone say "you're a stupid coolie or stupid blackman", then the words are being used in an offensive manner.

WHile the words themselves are nor banned, I think some people use it to start fights or insult each other on here.

If you use it in that manner, threads start to become personal insults, that's why I started to close them. Banning people is only temporary, when they return, they continue along the same vein.

I have found that closing threads are more effective.

If Amral feels I should not do that, then I'll stop. Until then, I'll continue to close or delete threads if I feel that they become inflammatory

In America today, the flood gates are open regarding sexual assault, insults, racist remarks and so on. Many of the high and mighty will fall, businessmen, politicians, celebrities , sport professionals and the rest. Things that were taken for granted years gone, is a crime today. I don't have problem with slangs such as blackman and coolie, but the insinuation of the use of profanities , such as f**** and so is as good as using the word, those curse abbreviated words MUST not be used, it is filthy, many of us will not use those words in our home, so why use it in public on this forum?

Riff continue what you are doing. You are correct, there are certain ways when the words are used that invite racism

Then Riff must apply those rules consistently and fairly. Carib has been getting a free pass a GNI right under Riff's nose.

Caribj AKA Mughabe is irrelevant, let his spew his RACIST self. He is who he is.

There are many people who are proud of their colour. Blacks are proud to be referred to as Blackman, blackwomen, black people, black girl, black boy. They even go so far as asking others to called them so. However, it comes down to Individuality - how the person feels about being called a Blackman etc. If the person says that they do not like being referred to as a Blackman etc. please respect their feelings and stop calling them that. Calling someone a Blackman does not necessarily make him or her racist. In my own previous posts I have referred to people as blackman? Does that make me racist? I frankly don’t care what others think about me.
