Titans to tackle Deep South for female title; Saints engage Central Rupununi in male clash

The respective female and male finals of the Rupununi Football Association (RFA) will be contested tomorrow at the St. Ignatius Sports Club ground where fans of the contesting teams are expected to come out in their numbers.
Titans Football Club of Aishalton Village will match skills with their rivals from Deep South in the Rupununi for championship honours in the female finale while the male championship match will bring together Saints Football Club of the Rupununi and Paiwamak Warriors Football Club, based at Annai in the North Rupununi.
Titans are favourites to take the female title and on their way to the final, downed Paiwamak Warriors in the semi final after taking care of Shiriri Football Club in their quarter final match. Kaieteur Sport was informed that the Titans travelled a distance of 455km, return, to take on their semi final opponent and came away victors.
At stake for the respective winners in both male and female competitions is cheque for $200,000 with the respective losers pocketing $150,000along with trophies and medals. Tomorrow’s first final will kick off at 15:00hrs.
