Rain prevents play in penultimate round of GCB/CGI Jaguars 50-over League

Dec 22, 2017 Sports, https://www.kaieteurnewsonline...uars-50-over-league/

Rain prevented any play in the penultimate round of the Guyana Cricket Board/Cricket Guyana Inc. Jaguars 50-over League at four venues yesterday. At Tuschen, East Bank Essequibo, play was re-scheduled to start at 11:00hrs between West Demerara and East Coast Demerara following morning rain, but a subsequent downpour which left the outfield waterlogged caused the umpires to abandon the fixture.
The Georgetown / East Bank Demerara game was fixed for Everest; Essequibo were set to battle Lower Corentyne at Young Warriors ground and West Berbice were scheduled to take on Upper Corentyne at Bush Lot.
The League will enter its final preliminary round tomorrow at four venues across the country, weather permitting. Leaders Essequibo, champions of the 2017GCB/Jaguars three-day League will do battle with fifth placed Upper Corentyne at the Albion Community Centre ground while joint third placed teams Georgetown and West Demerara will compete at the Tuschen for a spot in the Playoffs.
Seventh placed Upper Demerara/East Bank will battle sixth placed West Berbice at the Everest while defending Jaguars One Day League Champions and current second placed Lower Corentyne will oppose East Coast Demerara which is in the cellar position at the Young Warriors ground.
