A man who was obviously not satisfied with dousing his ex-lover with acid, at yesterday’s court hearing threw a liquid substance on her suspected to be faeces. When Ursula Hutton, appeared in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court to give evidence against Woodrow Cadogan he threw the faeces on her and subsequently managed to hurl a solid object at Mr. Karimbasksh who is prosecuting the case. The man who is said to be feared by many, had to be restrained by police officers and in the process he directed remarks to Hutton, his ex-lover. “Yuh see that f***ing sickness wah yuh give me, plus yuh tek all me f***ing money.”

Kaieteur News was made to understand that a search was not carried out on the prisoner at Camp Street prison, neither before he entered the courtroom. However, shortly after the incident, ranks conducted a search on his person and found cigarettes, an onion, garlic, and other solid objects. Magistrate Hazel Octave-Hamilton was forced to adjourn the court for approximately two hours, during which time investigating ranks visited the scene, and took with them a sample of the substance for testing.

The Georgetown Magistrates’ Court was left with a pungent scent for the rest of the afternoon. Woodrow Cadogan on November, 14, 2010, made his initial court appearance before Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry where he was arraigned on an attempted murder charge, he pleaded not guilty to the offence.
