100 passengers left behind after Dynamic overbooks

Posted By Staff Writer On December 25, 2014 @ 5:21 am In Local News | No Comments

One hundred passengers, who were scheduled to travel to Guyana with Dynamic Airways will not make it home for Christmas this year after they were left stranded at the John F Kennedy (JFK) Airport yesterday morning.

The snag triggered a protest at the airport and passengers were seen holding up placards, the New York Post reported. According to information received, the passengers were set to travel to Guyana yesterday but received the bad news when they arrived at the US airport.

The New York Post stated that the flight was apparently overbooked and a Port Authority Police Department (PAPD) source had released information that the airline would not have any other plane available until December 27.

The Post added that around 9 am yesterday half of the irate passengers were booking hotels, but 45 customers remained at the airport terminal to protest.

All attempts to contact local representative of the airline Gerry Gouveia were futile.

The airline, since it arrived in Guyana, has been hit by constant delays and technical problems.

A few days ago, another set of passengers were stranded at the JFK airport and it was reported that there had been mechanical issues. The travellers had arrived a day after they were scheduled to land in Guyana.

Guyanese head hard. Additionally they are generally poor in North America so when a cheap fare like 400 bucks shows up. They will take their chances.

That $400 looks real "cheap" given that most of them will miss Xmas, and some might lose their jobs if they get stranded when ready to return.

Its just amazing.  GuyAmerica was the first scam, collapsing around 1984.  This was followed by  steady cast of characters, like Arrow, Leisure, GA2000, Universal, Constellation, and Ezjet.  Even GAC left people stranded when it collapsed. Many others also existed, but I cannot remember the names.

And yet in December 2014 after THIRTY years of being scammed, yet another crowd of Guyanese are providing entertainment for US media when they scream and cry "dem raab we!"  After that inauspicious start last summer, who are the idiots who are so foolish as to use this airline.  The fact that Gouveia is involved ought to be reason enough to stay away!

Guyanese should use CAL or Fly Jamaica.  If they don't then when they get stranded they need to accept the fact that they played the lottery and they lost, and so should just keep quiet and go home and write off their losses.
