[www.inewsguyana.com] – The People’s Progressive Party (PPP) says it is disappointed but not surprised by the position adopted by the opposition parties, the APNU and the AFC on the advice offered by the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) on the allegations made against Attorney General, Anil Nandlall by Publisher of the Kaieteur News, Glenn Lall.

At its weekly press conference today, Monday December 29, General Secretary, Clement Rohee said that it seems that the only correct and acceptable advice that could be offered by the DPP for the political opposition, is one that puts the AG and by extension the PPP/C administration in a bad light.

“The PPP fully supports the DPP on the advice she offered which is consistent with the views of a significant body of public opinion to the effect that the allegations against the AG were politically motivated and designed to denigrate the AG and the office he holds.

“The PPP condemns the unwarranted and unsubstantiated attacks on the DPP’s Chambers and other Government officials whose only crime is to uphold the integrity of their offices and their professionalism,” Rohee told Reporters.

The PPP called on the opposition parties to desist from making statements that are designed to attack the professionalism and integrity of public officers.

“The attacks on the DPP’s Chambers, is yet another attempt to subvert the justice system whenever decisions taken do not find favour with the highly biased and entrenched positions of opposition elements.”

On December 22, DPP Shalimar Ali – Hack stated that no criminal charges can be brought against Nandlall.

The DPP said the file has been returned to the police; reminding that it was in relation to the private telephone conversation between the Attorney-General and “his personal friend” Leonard Gildarie.

Ali – Hack pointed out that based on the evidence contained in the police file, the alleged conversation was not between the Attorney-General and Glen Lall.

Lall, Publisher of Kaieteur News, had made the police report after the conversation between his staff [Gildarie] was brought to his attention. Lall claimed that the conversation was threatening to his life and that of his staff.

PPP will condemn anyone speaking the truth after all they have a vested interest in promoting her treachery and criminal actions at the DPP.

This was the homan jagdeo used to persecute innocent citizens, so do we expect anything better from these ***** holes?
