Says, if Jagdeo sincely wants a bright future for the PPP and Guyanese in general, he needs to stop hugging, kissing and rubbing boulders with Coolies, and change his strategy on message to the masses across the nation.

Jagdeo let two elections slipped away from the PPP, and fearfully, he may be blindsided again for a third time.

I just saw another set of pictures with him and his Indian fans that would give Shar-Rouk- Khan a run for his money. But he needs to do more than that if want the PPP to represent Guyana in the near future.

2020 is the test of the century. PPP either make it or break it.

Cobra, i take offence to your use of the word "coolies". It is bad enough that others in Guyana use that word to dehumanize and denigrate Indo Guyanese in Guyana. Now you have adopted their word to refer to East Indians, who by the way are celebrating Diwali. Self hate and self oppression (Friere's idea of prescription )is the worst kind of dehuminization .

From the news, I understand Jagdeo was there celebrating Diwali with them, so it is obvious that there will be lots of Indo Guyanese at the function. Also, since the coalition came to power and Jagdeo was elected as General Secretary of the PPP , the news has reported that he had travelled Guyana widely, meeting with Guyanese of all ethnic backgrounds   Discussing issues  listening to their concerns.

your stereotyping of East Indians is questionable. On this site  there has been numerous comments how Jagdeo initiated violence against the opposition and its supporters. Now  you want to have a different narrative.

Mr. Zed please note.

Rohee endorses Jagdeo statement that PPP is a "coolie people" party

Says Afro Guyanese should welcome statement
General Secretary of the People's Progressive Party (PPP), Clement Rohee, yesterday supported the statements made by his comrade, Bharrat Jagdeo, to the effect that the incumbent party is a coolie people party.

PPP General Secretary, Clement Rohee

As he hosted the PPP's weekly press conference at Freedom House Robb Street, Georgetown, Rohee said that he saw nothing wrong with former President Jagdeo's allusion to the PPP as a coolie people party.
Jagdeo made this statement on Sunday when he spoke at the memorial service held in honour of former President and founder member of the PPP, the late Dr. Cheddi Jagan at Babu Jaan, Corentyne, Berbice.
Jagdeo, who is known to speak rashly at this yearly forum, told thousands who gathered at the event that the opposition whispers to its supporters, "Let us throw out the coolie people."
Jagdeo added that the opposition consistently shouts about the racism of the PPP but they practice racism. They whisper campaigns. In the last elections they went to some of the Afro villages and beat some drums at six in the morning and say let us throw out these coolie people. Get up and go out and vote.
Yesterday Rohee was questioned as to whether he supported the statements made by his comrade and he responded in the affirmative.
Rohee said that PPP is indeed a "coolie people" party as it is overwhelmingly supported by Indians.
Asked if he considered the impact such a statement can have on PPP supporters who are of another race, Rohee said that he doesn't see that any harm can be caused.
He even told media operatives that PPP supporters who are Afro-Guyanese should welcome the statement as it is forthright.

Are you a jackass or are you pretending to be one. Ramoutar ran in the last two elections. Get Jagdeo out of your craw for a minute and concentrate on what jackass granger is doing to make Guyana better.

The puppeteer of Ramu's tenure was Jagdeo, dig deeper it will be revealed.

This has always been your claim with no evidence to back it up. Did Hillary Clinton blame the Obamas for her loss?

Bai, you should close up shop and remigrate. You will make a good propagandist for your beloved PNC. I am sure they can some allowance to give you a 25% raise.

Mitts. I was in Guyana when Rohee made that statement so I am familiar with it. Thanks for the reminder, though. Rohee has never been the brightest bulb in the room so I could never understand why he was in a leadership position in the PPP.

Though, this has not changed what I posted. The media has been reporting that Jagdeo has been visiting various regions and meeting with Guyanese of all ethnic background. Whether this will have an impact we will not know until 2020 if fair and free elections are held.

the coalition seems to be helping Jagdeo. They cannot get their act together and the many promises remain but vague dreams. Theylost the opportunity to make a good first impression and win over those who voted against them.  They blew it. How quickly politicians succumb to collegiality mentality and arrogance.

Jagdeo was the puppeteer of Ramotar. That's why the PPP revolves around him.

2020 elections indeed will be a make it or break it.

If indeed fair and free elections are held; with the huge inconsistencies of the PNC/AFC; the PPPC has a superb chance to win the elections.

DG, at least you are getting the hang of what to expect. Free and fair is a thing in the past. Many are holding on a rotting rope for hope.
