On behalf of GNI we offer our deepest sympathies to Mara and family on this very sad occasion.

Thank you all folks  for your kind  words of comfort. The  past  several months has been  a trying  time for, watching my mother's  gradual decline. Nevertheless  we took  comfort  in  the  fact  that she lived a full and  fulfilled life (90  yrs) She  was a lady of  towering  strength, uncompromising integrity, a loyal  friend whose  unconditional  love for  her  family never  waned. To know  my  mother,  is to love,  respect and  admire her. Her  cherished  memories  shall live  on  in  those  she  left  behind.

Mara I can fully understand what you were feeling during those trying months. As an only child I am taking care of my mother and yes in recent years she has been going downhill. Again my condolences to you and cherish your memories of her, that is all you have left.

Please accept my deepest sympathy Mara and family.  I just saw this a few minutes ago. I have been having a few health problems myself lately so I have not been on the board as much as I would like.

My sincere condolences to you and your family. When such amazing people enter your life and pass on I always like to think of their impact as a gift rather than their passing as a loss.

The  comments here  from my  GNI family  would  be  preserved  in  her Book Of Remembrance.  Observe,  mom  was  originally from  Bloomfield ,  Central  Corentyne ,  but  we  lived  in  Mara from 1957- 1969. Amral, I  know  your mom and  although  we were stationed  at  Brickdam  around  the same  time, we  never  worked  together. However  an older  brother did when  she  was at  Operation and I  know she  was a class act.

I completely missed this.
