When they retreated, Wilson asked the US congress to come in to Afghanistan and fill the vacuum by supporting the Northern Alliance. The US did not want a damn thing to do with Afghanistan. It is after all, as a Russian general commented, "the place god dumped all the left over rocks" after creating the earth. 

The Taliban are  also not native Afghans. They are religious students from Pakistan. Their dominance of Afghans was via Genghis Khan kind of cruelty. The US left them alone. Then former fighters who were part of Wilson's War for reasons of their own decide to form their global terror organization called the "base",  Alqueda, under the protection of  of the Taliban.   They set their sights of making their debut by attacking the US.

They orchestrated the bombing of the WTC and murdered some 2000 people. The idea the you sell here that the US had no reason to invade Afghanistan unnecessarily is a lie.

With respect to this guy; he should have been sent to Afghanistan. At 15 he knew what he was doing. He was fighting against his country. His act is treason.  I am completely against the liberal attitude to accept any who left their country to fight against it and then decide to come back. That should never be allowed.
